Welcome to my beautiful kitchen!  The previous homeowners were very near the original owners of the place, and over the 50 years they lived there, they made many updates to the place, one of them being the amazing kitchen.  They really designed the place for hospitality and organization, and the layout of cupboards and drawers is absolute genius.  I can’t take any credit for how fantastic this kitchen really is.  Take a look!

The colour scheme is of all tones found in the natural outdoors.  It has crisp white cupboards and counters with a light beige backsplash tile, which have these beautiful painted trees on them. The ceiling is made of cedar planks, which lends a natural warmth and mid-century modern feel to it.  The floor is a linoleum made to look like slate flagstone. Finally, we painted the opposite wall a heather green to go with the “all natural” textures.

Gas cooktop, and extra deep drawers directly underneath to store pots and pans. Genius!

I think the painted tiles behind the gas cooktop is so pretty!  You really can’t find tiles like this anymore.  Cook’s tip: One of the 4 blue ramekins on the ledge is used as a sea salt pinch bowl 🙂

Here is our Breakfast Nook and pantry cupboard at the back. We spend a lot of work and leisure time here. The bay window is so bright and happy! Breakfast nook and pantry behind. Below: Our Gallery Wall contains photos and art prints from our travels.  The crucifix on the left is a wood carving from a late friend she got for us from New Mexico.  I love the memories that these bring back and look forward to filling it with future memories.  Isn’t that ceiling GORGEOUS??
